SWIMDEEP

Hey, this post may contain adult content, so we’ve hidden it from public view.
I know I’ve written about the Catcher in the rye so many times on here ( it’s my favourite book if you couldn’t tell). But I was thinking about how J.D. Salinger illustrates the protagonist, Holden Caulfield, as being exasperating but brutally relatable. When I first read the novel I remember despising Caulfield’s actions and opinions so much that it infuriated me.The worst thing being that I knew deep down that I would also have the same actions and opinions in some of the situations, the overwhelming sensation of guilt this caused is most probably what inspired these feelings of hatred and not the deeds themselves. Although the book influenced feelings of loathing I was incapable of putting it down. Maybe it was due to the desperation and hope that Holden Caulfield would reform and that therefore I would also become better then my substandard ways, or it could just be the attraction and curiosity of how a quirky offbeat mind labours.
helppppp I need suggestions. It’s desperate.
I currently have a desire to write something, but each time I manage to translate my thoughts into words my brain flickers and focuses on some new vivid better idea to jot down. Therefore my notebook right now contains about seven short stories from today which all, at most, consist of three sentences.
